Brief Introduction and Aim of the Organization
Sahid Ganesh Memorial Pratisthan (SGMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development and empowering the marginalized communities of Nepal, with a particular focus on the underserved regions of the Karnali Province. Established with a vision to create a just and equitable society, SGMP is committed to addressing the pressing challenges faced by the poor, vulnerable, and historically neglected populations. Our mission is to bring about transformative change in the fields of health, education, infrastructure, and the preservation of historical and touristic sites, ensuring that these efforts contribute to the holistic development of the region.
Headquartered in Birendranagar, Surkhet, SGMP operates with a deep sense of responsibility and a genuine approach to service. We believe in delivering quality over quantity, ensuring that every initiative we undertake is impactful, sustainable, and aligned with the needs of the communities we serve. १. विकट पश्चिम नेपाल कर्णाली प्रदेश लाई आधार बनाई स्वस्थ सेवामा टेवा पुराउन।
२. यस क्षत्रमा शिक्षा सुधार का विभिन्न पहल गर्न।
३. विभिन्न पुरातातिक बस्तु वा पार्क वा पर्यट्कीय सरकारी सम्पति सम्रक्षन गर्न
४.बृध असक्त महिला बालबालिका हरुका लागि समान पहुच विस्तार गर्न आदि।
Who is Shahid Ganesh Prasad Sharma?
Ganesh Prasad Sharma is one of Nepal's many martyrs and is recognized as the first martyr of Surkhet District. During the early days of the civil war in 2055 B.S., he sacrificed his life for the nation. He held a strong vision against discrimination based on religion, caste, and social hierarchy, particularly opposing the autocratic "born king" policy. He was a vocal advocate for freedom of speech, political rights, and equitable governance for the Nepalese community.
Despite being a government officer, he never compromised his principles for the sake of his job, family, or personal comfort. He was arrested and penalized multiple times, but his determination to fight for freedom never wavered. His ideology inspired many, and numerous individuals followed in his footsteps to bring about change in the nation.
Ganesh Prasad Sharma also initiated an FM radio station in Dailekh District, empowering people with political awareness and education. To honor his legacy, we, along with many political activists in the Surkhet and Dailekh areas, organize an annual program to commemorate his contributions and celebrate his life on Martyrs' Day.

गणेश प्रसाद शर्मा २०५३ वि.सं कै दसकतिर माओबादी विचार र कर्येदिशा ठिक हो। समाज रुपान्तरणका लागि बन्दुक मार्फतनै वा आफ्नो रगत बलिदानी पछि मात्र यो देसमा बस्ने सम्पूर्ण नागरिकका हक-हित सुरक्षित हुने र जनताले गणतन्त्र र समाजबाद पुरा गर्न सक्नेछन् भन्दै पार्टी र यसका विभिन्न संघ हरुमा आबद् हुनुभयो।उहाँ को भूमिगत नाम प्रभात थियो। भेरी-कर्णाली (भे.क) क्षेत्रमा उहाँ को ठुलो योगदान रहयो र यो क्षेत्रहरुमा उहाँले माक्सबादी शिक्षा र माओबादी गतिबिधिहरु गर्नु भयो। गृहयुद्ध सुरुका बखतको समय थियो। त्यो बेला सम्म पशिम नेपालतिर केहि माओबादी गतिबिधिहरु बढेकै थियो। माओबादी कार्यकर्ता मार्फत schoolingहरु मार्फत जनताका स्वत्रन्त्रता हक-हितहरु एबम धेरै मानिसहरुमा क्रान्ति र यसका सकारात्मक प्रभावहरु गाउँ गाउँहरुमा देखिदै थियो। ठुलो संख्यामा युवाहरु,मजदुरहरु एबम जनताहरु माओबादीका युद्धमोर्चाहरुमा स्वतन्त्ररुपमा सहभागी हुँदै थिए। एहि समयताका नै पारेर उहाँलाई धेरै पटक करिब ३ पटक जति हिरासत र जेल र २०५५ बैसाख तिर प्रहरीले समाती चरम यातना दिए र बैसाख २७ गते (सम्भाभित)का दिन १७ बर्सिय डिला थापा र गणेश प्रसाद शर्मा को सहादत भएको खबर आएको थियो। यो क्षेत्रकै पहिलो घटना थियो। जनताहरुले एबम विभिन्न पार्टीहरुले उहाँका शोकसभाहरु गरे। यो क्षेत्रमा क्रान्ति आझै ससक्त हुँदै गयो।
